A jury convicted appellant, James Strong, of murder in the first degree, kidnapping, robbery, theft of an automobile, and theft of personal property valued at $200.00 or more. A separate penalty hearing was held for the first degree murder charge in accordance with Section 9711 of the Sentencing Code. The jury unanimously found three aggravating circumstances and no mitigating circumstances, and accordingly sentenced appellant to death. Post-verdict motions were denied and the appellant was formally sentenced to death.
